MV Ashanta 'Mood Ring' Red Blend

California Red Blend of50% Carignan 25% Tempranillo 25% Syrah Vineyard: Testa (Mendocino), Suma Kaw (Sierra Foothills), Tempranillo (Covelo).

The third iteration of a blended California Table Wine. Most of the other cuvees  are made with big choices during harvest. With Mood Ring they have fun every year, experimenting, tasting and editing many different options in the cellar. It’s a fun but intensely rigorous process. This year they landed on blending very fresh semi-carbonic old vine Carignan with some of their favorite over-vintaged wine from ‘22. The Tempranillo gives the wine great structure and texture, the Syrah is a beautiful mountain fruit from the Sierras and the Carignan a crystalline lifted through a line. This bottle is the chameleon as she is bright enough to chill down and drink on a warm summer night but has enough depth to wrap around you as the nights get shorter and colder.
